History of Campamento Casi Cielo (Almost Heaven)
The dream of a Christian Camp began in the hearts of the Christian community of La Fortuna in 1994. A vision stirred the hearts of John and Bessie Ott (missionaries) to make this dream a reality. Through contacts in the United States, work-teams were developed in 1998 to begin construction in 1999. The first cabins were completed in 2000.
Today Camp Casi Cielo has become a beacon in the community for Christian activities, from retreats and baptisms to weddings and outreach programs in local schools and churches. This beautiful campus is located on the Fortuna river one mile from La Fortuna, on the Waterfall road.
